John Charles McCrory was born in Starkville, Mississippi and has lived in Rankin County for the past 48 years. He is a graduate of Brandon High School. Dr. McCrory received his Bachelor of Science degree in Animal and Dairy Science with an emphasis in Dairy Farm Management from Mississippi State University where he also obtained his Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine.
Dr. McCrory is a second generation veterinarian who became interested in animal health from observing the activities of his late father, Dr. Harvey Fred McCrory, who served in many capacities of veterinary medicine including State Veterinarian and Diagnostic Lab Director of Mississippi from 1971-1990.
After graduation, Dr. McCrory served as a relief veterinarian to over 30 veterinary clinics throughout the state of Mississippi and as far north as Memphis, Tennessee. He worked with many well respected veterinarians, including Dr. Andy Johnson in Greenwood, Mississippi and Dr. Tip Hailey in Canton, Mississippi. While practicing as a relief veterinarian in so many different areas, Dr. McCrory was able to learn a variety of techniques from talented veterinarians, some of which he still uses to this day.
In 2008, Dr. McCrory started his own mobile clinic that provides small animal veterinary services including surgeries, dentals, and other medical procedures to the Jackson metropolitan area and beyond. He also provides on-site veterinary services for bovine, equine, caprine, and porcine.
Dr. John McCrory is licensed to practice veterinary medicine in the State of Mississippi. He is a member of the Mississippi Veterinary Medical Association, the American Veterinary Medical Association, and is certified by the United States Department of Agriculture.
